Renault Japon has announced and launched the "Signature" special edition of the compact car "Twingo," adorned with "TWINGO" design lettering.

The Twingo, named at its debut in 1992, was inspired by the three words: "TWist," "sWINg," and "tanGO."

The new "Signature" special edition features a playful design, with typography inspired by these three words and spelling out "TWINGO," applied to the dedicated side stripes, seats, and kicking plates, all set against a special blue body color.

Exclusive features include side protection mouldings with a signature logo in the same color as the body, dedicated side stripes, 16-inch alloy wheels, blue interior trim, dedicated kicking plates, and a rear camera.

The interior expresses the "Signature" concept with accents of red against the body color, Blue Océan Metallic.

The base model is the Twingo EDC. It is powered by a 0.9-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine mounted at the rear, producing a maximum output of 68kW (92ps) at 5,500rpm and a maximum torque of 135Nm (13.8kgm) at 2,500rpm, driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Although the initial production run is limited to 100 units, it is not a limited-edition model and is priced at 2.14 million yen.
