Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte Also Feature Ferrari-Built V8-Powered Trofeo Models
On August 10, Maserati announced the addition of the "Trofeo" model, featuring a Ferrari-built V8 engine, to its Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans, alongside the Levante SUV.
Powered by a 3.8-liter V8 Twin-Turbo Engine with 580ps and 730Nm Torque
To re-emphasize Maserati's "Made in Italy" identity, these new models adopt the Italian flag's tricolor as their launch exterior color. The Quattroporte features green, the Levante white, and the Ghibli red. Accents of matte chrome and glossy red trim add both aggression and elegance.
The heart of the Ghibli and Quattroporte Trofeo models is the 3.8-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, already revealed in the Levante Trofeo. It produces a maximum output of 580ps at 6,250rpm and peak torque of 730Nm. Manufactured at Ferrari's Maranello plant for Maserati, it has been refined and developed to deliver similar performance in the front-engine, rear-wheel-drive sedans. This expansion means all new Ghibli, Quattroporte, and Levante models are now equipped with the 580ps V8 engine, all compliant with fuel efficiency and EU emissions regulations.
With a top speed of 326 km/h, the Ghibli and Quattroporte Trofeo become the fastest sedans in Maserati's history, surpassing the Levante Trofeo's 302 km/h. Like the Levante Trofeo, the new Ghibli and Quattroporte Trofeo feature the Integrated Vehicle Control (IVC) system, with a special setup to enhance driving dynamics, improve active safety, and ensure thrilling performance. A Corsa button enables a sportier driving style. Furthermore, similar to the Levante Trofeo, they offer a launch control function, unleashing the engine's full power for breathtaking performance and an authentic Maserati driving experience.
In addition to Maserati's signature engine sound, the Trofeo collection features distinctive styling elements symbolizing its high-performance nature, including a black piano finish dual-bar front grille and carbon fiber finished front air duct trim and rear extractors.
Further exterior distinctions common to the Trofeo collection include red detailing on the side air vent frames and the Saetta logo on the C-pillar. The rear design features redesigned lights with a boomerang-like motif inspired by the 3200GT and the Alfieri concept car. The Ghibli Trofeo sports a newly designed hood with two aggressive air ducts for enhanced cooling, similar to the Levante Trofeo. Both the Ghibli and Quattroporte Trofeo are fitted with 21-inch Orione wheels.
Inside, a new onboard panel displays a dedicated interface upon ignition. The headrests feature Trofeo embroidery, and the interior is finished in full-grain Pieno Fiore natural leather, the finest available.
New functions have been added to the ADAS system, with Active Driving Assist now operational for driver assistance in urban areas and on general highways. The MIA (Maserati Intelligent Assistant) also incorporates new technology; the multimedia screen resolution has been upgraded to 10.1 inches for the Ghibli Trofeo and Quattroporte Trofeo, and 8.4 inches for the Levante, with improved resolution and graphics. Furthermore, the Maserati Connect program ensures the Trofeo collection remains constantly connected to the internet, offering a range of services.
Production of the Ghibli and Quattroporte Trofeo will take place at the Avvocato Giovanni Agnelli Plant (AGAP) in Grugliasco (Turin), while the Levante Trofeo will be produced at the Mirafiori plant in Turin.
