Introducing the MINI Crossover "Cornwall Edition," Inspired by Surfing
BMW announced on April 23rd the launch of the "MINI Crossover Cornwall Edition," a limited model designed with a surfing concept.
Imagining the Lifestyle of Lifelong Surfers
This limited edition is based on the "MINI Crossover Cooper D," a compact SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) equipped with the company's clean diesel engine, and the four-wheel-drive "Cooper D ALL4."
The limited model was developed by envisioning the lifestyle of those who pursue surfing as a lifelong hobby, "encountering waves of a lifetime, confronting entirely different scenery from everyday life, and drawing energy from the ocean while experiencing a mix of excitement and relaxation."
The model name "Cornwall" is derived from Cornwall, a county located in the westernmost part of the UK. This peninsula, surrounded by the sea on three sides, boasts the longest coastline in the UK at approximately 700 km, and Newquay in the northwest is considered a mecca for British surfing.
The exterior of this limited edition features a Moonwalk Grey metallic body color with a sophisticated gloss finish, a first for the MINI Crossover, combined with a black roof and 18-inch black wheels. Original design side scuttles inspired by the Cornish sea and "Cornwall Edition" name badges on the rear gate further enhance its exclusive appeal.
The body color options also include Light White solid, which stands out beautifully in natural light, and Midnight Black metallic, emphasizing its active character. The interior features the exclusive Cross Leatherette Seat Black Pearl for the MINI Crossover Cornwall Edition, making its debut in Japan.
Safety features include the Active Cruise Control driving assistance system, forward collision warning, collision avoidance and mitigation braking, LED lighting for enhanced visibility, and Parking Assistant to aid with parallel parking.
The price for the MINI Crossover D Cornwall Edition is 4.7 million yen, and the MINI Crossover D ALL4 Cornwall Edition is 4.94 million yen.
