Lexus' Vision for the Car of 2030

The "LF-30 Electrified," which had only been revealed as a teaser symbolizing Lexus' electrification vision, was finally unveiled.
Announced concurrently was "Lexus Electrified," Lexus' vision for electrification. This philosophy aims to evolve the fundamental performance of vehicles using electrification technology, continuing to provide the enjoyment and pleasure of driving in an era where mobility society is constantly changing, with advancements in autonomous driving and electrification. Lexus believes that by returning to the origins of the automobile through electrification technology, they can significantly evolve the joy of driving and fundamentally change the future of luxury cars.
The "LF-30 Electrified" is the first manifestation of this philosophy, incorporating numerous advanced technologies with a view toward 2030.
The exterior features a futuristic design unique to EVs powered by in-wheel motors, characterized by large gull-wing doors that open wide, one on each side. Leveraging the form without a traditional hood, the spindle shape, a Lexus design icon, has been evolved into an architecture for the entire body.
Furthermore, by allowing variable opacity for the side windows, it balances a wide field of vision for enjoying the scenery with privacy. To distinguish between normal driving mode and autonomous driving mode from outside the vehicle, the front face's color and illumination patterns are differentiated, demonstrating a pursuit of functionality alongside design.
Inside, the cockpit is designed based on the new "Tazuna" concept, inspired by the relationship between a rider and horse, where communication is achieved with a single rein. Next-generation interfaces such as AR vehicle information display and gesture control are incorporated. The front passenger seat is laid out with inspiration from first-class airline seating, with all necessary controls placed within easy reach.
The vehicle itself incorporates numerous advanced technologies, achieving improved performance through a low-mounted battery and high driving dynamics thanks to the four in-wheel motors. Additionally, wireless charging technology simplifies daily charging, while AI energy management enables optimal power distribution with the home and charging control tailored to daily schedules.
Furthermore, it is equipped with the "Lexus Airporter," a support vehicle utilizing drone technology, which automatically transports luggage from the entrance to the luggage compartment, embodying Lexus' vision for the car of 2030.
The Tokyo Motor Show will be open to the public from Friday, October 25, to Monday, November 4 (holiday).
