Reservations Open for Panamera and Panamera 4
Porsche Japan has opened reservations for the new third-generation Panamera and its all-wheel-drive model, the Panamera 4.
PHEV Model, First in Panamera History, Also Teased for Japan Introduction
Born as Porsche's first four-door luxury sports sedan, the Panamera has seen its third generation globally premiered in Shanghai.
The models now available for reservation in Japan are the entry-level "Panamera" and the all-wheel-drive "Panamera 4." The "Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid," a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model that marks a first for the Panamera lineup, is scheduled to have its reservations announced at a later date.
The "Panamera" and "Panamera 4" are equipped with a 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine. Output has increased by 17 kW (23 PS) to 260 kW (353 PS), with a 50 Nm torque increase to 500 Nm. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the 0-100 km/h acceleration is reduced to 5.1 seconds for the "Panamera," reaching a top speed of 272 km/h.
The "Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid" PHEV model, slated for introduction in Japan, combines a 4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine with an electric motor. The system delivers a combined output of 500 kW (680 PS) and 930 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h.
Additionally, a two-chamber, two-valve air suspension system with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is standard. This system significantly mitigates impacts from road imperfections and joints while enhancing vehicle stability during dynamic driving.
The body dimensions are 5,052 mm in length, 1,937 mm in width, and 1,423 mm in height. The design emphasizes width, with added air intakes above the front license plate to supply the necessary air for the drive system. The side window line has been redesigned to accentuate its sedan-like profile as a four-door sports car.
The interior cockpit balances digital and analog controls. The gear selector lever is positioned to the left of the steering wheel, allowing the driver direct access to driving program mode switches and assistance control stalks without diverting their attention from the road.
The digital experience supports Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto. An optional 10.9-inch passenger display is also available, enabling operation of the infotainment system and video streaming during the drive.
Standard safety features include Matrix LED lights with a range of up to 600 meters. Additionally, Active Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control are standard, along with a new Remote Park Assist function that allows parking without the driver inside the vehicle.
The price for the new Panamera starts at 14.24 million yen, and the all-wheel-drive "Panamera 4" is priced at 14.79 million yen.
