May 24, 2020, was originally set to be the day of the F1 Monaco Grand Prix, with Formula cars racing through the streets of Monaco. However, this year's event was canceled due to the spread of coronavirus. A film was produced set in the streets of Monaco, which was supposed to be the venue.
The protagonists of the short film "Le Grand Rendez-vous," directed by Claude Lelouch, known for works such as the Palme d'Or-winning "A Man and a Woman," are Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc and the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, Ferrari's first mass-produced plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model.
Many may be familiar with Lelouch's 1976 short documentary "Rendez-vous," in which a Ferrari 275 GTB races through the silent, early morning streets of Paris. This new film is essentially its modern-day counterpart.
The SF90 Stradale, carrying Lelouch's camera, ran at full power on the closed F1 street circuit. The car's scorching V8 hybrid engine, boasting a total output of 1000 hp and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.5 seconds, roared, while Charles Leclerc at the wheel reached speeds of up to 240 km/h on his way to the mysterious "Grand Rendez-vous" indicated by the film's title.

Lockdowns in France and Monaco were gradually being eased, and under the careful supervision of local authorities, enthusiastic fans watched the filming from their balconies and roadsides.
Additionally, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco made a brief appearance in the film, and Ferrari Chairman John Elkann, along with Andrea Casiraghi and Pierre Casiraghi of the Monegasque princely family, also visited the set.
"Le Grand Rendez-vous" will be released on Saturday, June 13th.
