Updated Interior and Exterior: The Refreshed MINI Debuts
BMW has announced minor model changes for MINI's hatchback models, the MINI 3 Door, MINI 5 Door, and MINI Convertible, and has commenced sales.
Enhanced Safety Features and Standard MINI Connected Across All Models
The MINI, with its newly refreshed interior and exterior, has been launched.
The headlights, one of MINI's signature icons, have been updated to LED and are now standard on all models. In conjunction with this, the front grille has been enlarged, highlighting the traditional hexagonal shape.
The lower part of the front bumper, which previously housed fog lights, now features an air curtain. By efficiently channeling airflow from the front into the air intake, both design and aerodynamic performance have been improved.
The central section of the bumper has been changed from the previous black to body color, accentuating the new front design. The hexagonal frame surrounding the radiator grille is now thicker, and the newly designed side scuttles lend a refined impression to the sides.
Inside, an 8.8-inch wide color center display with touch functionality is now standard on all models, complemented by a digital multi-information display for a modern cabin ambiance.
The center display, including the controls, now has a flat design, and the display's layout has been updated for a more modern look. The display can also be switched between a calming "Lounge Mode" with a blue-based theme, reflecting the driver's mood, and a "Sport Mode" that visually enhances the go-kart feeling.
Furthermore, a leather steering wheel is standard on all models, and the interior surfaces have been redesigned into a unified piece that incorporates the central air vents, creating an overall modern and refined impression.
The "John Cooper Works," a circuit-oriented model equipped with a high-performance engine, is available in 3-door and convertible versions. Its exterior has been significantly updated to emphasize its sporty character.
Connectivity includes standard "MINI Connected" on all models, offering features like an SOS call for emergencies. Additionally, by linking with the "MINI App" smartphone application, users can remotely check vehicle status and location, lock/unlock doors, and activate headlights. It also integrates with map applications and allows for service appointment requests at dealerships.
The driver assistance systems include Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function. Except for the entry-grade "ONE," all models are equipped as standard with the brand's first Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, and Automatic Emergency Braking.
The optional equipment lineup has also been significantly revised. A new design package called "Trim" has been introduced, simplifying the optional equipment lineup globally. Four "Trim" options are available: the simple "Essential Trim," the "Classic Trim" that highlights MINI's traditional character, the sporty "John Cooper Works Trim," and the "MINI Yours Trim" with premium features. By selecting equipment based on these "Trims," customers can easily create a model tailored to their preferences.
For body colors, the highly customizable "Multitone Roof" with a gradient design has been added, along with three new color options.
Pricing starts at ¥2.73 million for the 3 Door and ¥3.97 million for the 5 Door, while the Convertible ranges from ¥3.85 million to ¥4.53 million. The John Cooper Works models are priced at ¥4.82 million for the 3 Door and ¥5.38 million for the Convertible.
