Uses the Same Aluminum Spaceframe as the SLS AMG
This model is an all-electric vehicle powered solely by lithium-ion polymer battery modules. The system is housed within the center tunnel behind the seats, with a motor integrated into each wheel. It produces a maximum output of 526 hp and 880 Nm of torque, achieving 0-60 mph (approx. 97 km/h) in about 4 seconds.
According to 'Automobile' magazine, this EV version of the SLS utilizes the same aluminum spaceframe as the AMG SLS. In addition to regenerative braking, it features ceramic composite rotors measuring 18.5 inches at the front and 14.2 inches at the rear.
The absence of an exhaust system allows for efficient downforce generation through the front air splitter and rear diffuser, contributing to more stable driving.
When one hears 'electric car,' the prevailing image is often an eco-friendly vehicle focused on city driving. However, this AMG SLS E-Cell undoubtedly points towards a new direction for sports cars.
BRAND HISTORY
Tracing the history of automobiles leads us to two German pioneers: Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz. It goes without saying that between 1885 and 1886, these two men independently created gasoline-powered automobiles, laying the foundation for our car-centric society. Their respective automotive companies were once rivals, but to overcome the post-World War I recession, they joined forces, leading to the establishment of Daimler-Benz AG in 1926.
The name 'Mercedes' given to the products originated when Emil Jellinek, a customer of Daimler's, had his eldest daughter's name used for sales outside of Germany, a condition for his dealership. The trademark was registered by Daimler in 1902.
Thus born, Mercedes, and subsequently Mercedes-Benz, has consistently led the evolution of the automobile, actively introducing cutting-edge technologies such as the safety passenger cell, airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), and Night View.
