Technology honed in racing

The "Tuono V4 X," developed and assembled directly by Aprilia Racing—a team with 54 world titles and 7 Superbike World Championship titles to its name with its narrow V4 engine—has been announced, with production limited and each unit bearing a serial number.
The model under development has already undergone test rides by MotoGP rider Aleix Espargaró and Superbike World Championship competitor Lorenzo Savadori. Savadori, who recorded a lap time of 1 minute 50 seconds at the Imola Circuit, commented, "Its unique aspect is the balance between comfort and performance. The incredibly capable engine is easy to control for both experts and beginners, and the aerodynamically designed bodywork offers surprising stability for a hyper-naked."

The engine is the same unit found in the RSV4 1100 Factory, but its peak output has been tuned up from the previous 217 hp to 221 hp. The suspension system features Öhlins semi-active technology.
The dry weight achieves 166 kg, close to the specifications of the MotoGP prototype. A carbon fiber front wing, inspired by those fitted to Aprilia's "RS-GS" in MotoGP, is said to contribute to high stability.
The Akrapovič exhaust system features titanium manifolds and carbon outlets. For the air filter, a Sprint Filter unit—the same used by Aprilia Racing in MotoGP for its high breathability and water resistance—is employed.
The engine maps are optimized for the racing exhaust system, with engine braking, traction control, and anti-wheelie levels designed with the circuit in mind. A TFT display with programmed lap time display functions using an electronic shifter and built-in GPS sensor comes as standard.
Orders are already being acceptedonlineand buyers will receive their products directly from Aprilia Racing, along with a special tour of the racing department in Noale, Italy, and a dedicated KYT NX Race helmet inspired by the bike's graphics. The price is set at 34,900 euros (approximately 4.4 million yen).
