BMW 3 Series Receives Minor Change—Design and Safety Features Updated

Hands-Free Driving Possible Under Certain Conditions
The exterior has been given a striking update with BMW's latest design language. The new LED headlights, featuring daytime running lights, present a sharper impression. Combined with the BMW-traditional kidney grille with double bars and a widened front apron, the design is more powerful. The rear combination lights are now slimmer and more horizontal, and the tailpipe diameter has been increased to 90mm or 100mm, contributing to a powerful aesthetic.
The interior has also been significantly revised, adopting the latest BMW Curved Display, which integrates a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch control display for excellent visibility and operability. The elimination of the shift lever, replaced by paddle shifters standard on all models, streamlines the area around the iDrive controller, lending a modern impression.
Safety features include the latest generation of systems as standard, such as an advanced driver assistance system with high analytical capabilities powered by a high-performance triple camera, radar, and processor. The "Traffic Jam Assistant" reduces driver workload in highway congestion, allowing for hands-free driving under certain conditions.
Furthermore, convenience is greatly enhanced by the latest generation of connectivity, allowing for vehicle operation and destination setting via voice commands like "OK, BMW," compatibility with Apple CarPlay, and the ability to send destinations pre-searched on a smartphone to the vehicle.
The powertrain lineup includes multiple engines, such as two types of 2.0-liter inline-4 gasoline engines, a 2.0-liter inline-4 diesel, and a 3.0-liter inline-6 gasoline engine. Sales begin on the same day, with deliveries scheduled for late September of this year. Prices range from 5.48 million to 10.40 million yen for the Sedan, and 6.27 million to 10.67 million yen for the Touring.
