Electronically Controlled Dampers Adopted for the First Time in a Subaru Vehicle
Subaru world-premiered the prototype of the second-generation new Levorg at the Tokyo Motor Show in late 2019. While the Levorg is scheduled for release in the latter half of 2020, the Levorg Prototype STI Sport, a collaboration with STI (Subaru Technical International), which handles Subaru's motorsports, was unveiled at Tokyo Auto Salon.
The Levorg Prototype STI Sport, which Subaru claims further refines the new Levorg's driving performance, features electronically controlled dampers for the first time in a Subaru vehicle, aiming to achieve a sophisticated ride and sporty handling at a high level.
Additionally, Subaru's "Drive Mode Select," which allows the car's character to be changed with a single switch operation, is also adopted for the first time. This system controls not only the power unit via the conventional "SI-Drive" but also the steering, dampers, and even the AWD system, enhancing driving flexibility.
Release timing and pricing are yet to be determined. We await further details.
