The Pinnacle and Final W12 Engine Two-Seater GT, Crafted by Mulliner

Bentley has announced the completion of the development program for the "Batur," a coachbuilt car first revealed in 2023. The company is now working with its 18 clients to finalize vehicle specifications.

Sustainable New Materials, Including Natural Fibers, Utilized and Durability Tested

The Batur, named after a lake in Bali, Indonesia, is a new grand tourer handcrafted in a limited run of 18 units by Mulliner, Bentley's bespoke and coachbuilding division. As the successor to the "Bacalar" announced in 2020, it is positioned by Bentley as the "ultimate grand tourer."
The powertrain is the 6.0-liter W12 twin-turbocharged engine, originating from the Continental GT introduced in 2003. Tested to its limits over more than 100 weeks of development, featuring a new intake system, revised turbochargers, and new electronic stability control calibration, this engine delivers 750ps, Bentley's highest output ever.
However, this powerful and refined W12, Bentley's most potent engine, will be the last to power a Batur. This is because Bentley is embarking on a path toward full electrification, making the Batur the final W12-powered vehicle.
For the Batur's development, Bentley constructed two prototype vehicles, serial numbers 0 and 00, with the same level of craftsmanship as the customer cars.
Car 0 features a custom exterior finish in "Purple Sector" and is fitted with 22-inch wheels with satin black crystal spokes. The second development car, 00, boasts a striking "Mulliner Teal" finish.
Furthermore, sustainable new materials such as natural fibers were incorporated, with the number of Batur-specific parts exceeding 800.
These two special development vehicles underwent a 2,500 km European tour and high-speed testing on closed circuits. They also endured 600 hours of solar load testing in the Arizona desert, equivalent to five years of exposure, confirming the durability of the sustainable materials used in the Batur's construction for lifelong use.
Bentley has determined that the Batur, having passed these development tests, is ready for the next stage. The vehicles, co-created by each pre-booked customer in collaboration with Mulliner's design team, will now be handcrafted in the Mulliner workshop within Bentley's carbon-neutral factory in Crewe, England.
