A Limited Edition MINI Crossover Arrives in a Special Blue, New to the Model
BMW has introduced the "Boardwalk Edition," a limited-edition model of the compact SUV "MINI Crossover," featuring a special blue finish. Only 200 units will be available, and sales have commenced.
Exclusive Interior and Exterior Features Create a Distinctive Limited Edition Look
The "Boardwalk Edition" adopts "Deep Laguna Blue Metallic," a special blue hue reminiscent of a deep lake or waterside sky, making its debut on the MINI Crossover. The name "Boardwalk" is inspired by the wooden pathways found near water, and the limited edition incorporates design elements that evoke the texture of wood planks.
The base model is the "MINI Cooper D Crossover," equipped with a 2-liter diesel turbo engine. This unit produces a maximum output of 110 kW (150 hp) and a peak torque of 350 Nm, driving the front wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The combination of exclusive features, including sporty 18-inch black wheels, black roof rails, piano black exterior trim, a dedicated roof sticker, and unique side scuttles, creates a cohesive and stylish design that enhances its robust appearance.
The interior is also appointed with exclusive "Boardwalk" features, including interior surface trim in piano black with dedicated stickers, special seats, and a multi-function display instrument panel, all contributing to its distinctive limited-edition character.
Safety equipment is also comprehensive, including Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, collision avoidance and mitigation braking, and a forward collision warning system.
The navigation system can be operated via the touchscreen or the MINI Controller. The MINI Head-Up Display, which allows drivers to view speed and navigation information without diverting their gaze from the road ahead, along with a rearview camera and Parking Assistant for parallel parking, are also included as special equipment.
Production is limited to 200 units, with a price of 4.95 million yen. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in March 2021.
