Jaguar XE Sedan Reservations Now Open in Japan

Jaguar Land Rover Japan has announced that reservations will begin in Japan for the new XE sedan, which was unveiled in London in September and made its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show.

The "XE First Edition," a special specification model commemorating its launch, is now available for reservation in Japan. The powertrain combines a 2-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF.

While the confirmed specifications for the Japanese market have not yet been announced, referring to the equivalent European model as a guideline, it boasts a maximum output of 147kW (200ps), a maximum torque of 280Nm, acceleration from 0-100km/h in 7.7 seconds, a top speed of 237km/h, fuel consumption of 7.5ℓ/100km (approximately 13.3km/ℓ) under EU standards, and CO2 emissions of 179g/km.

With body dimensions of 4,672mm in length, 1,850mm in width, and 1,416mm in height, it is almost the same size as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, and Cadillac ATS. Jaguar emphasizes its use of aluminum in a modular chassis for weight reduction, resulting in a curb weight of just 1,530kg.

The First Edition is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, electric Taurus leather front seats, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking (AEB) that avoids or mitigates collisions using stereo camera monitoring, lane departure warning, and a 380W Meridian premium audio system with 11 speakers, including a subwoofer.

Three body colors are available: Glacier White, Ultimate Black, and Ammonite Grey. The interior can be chosen from three colors: Jet, Almond, and Light Oyster, offering a total of five coordinated options.

The price for the Jaguar XE First Edition is 5,588,000 yen, including consumption tax. It is a limited edition release of 400 units.
