This engine holds a record set in March of this year, where a production 308 completed 1,810km on a circuit without refueling, at an average speed of 57km/h. This translates to a fuel consumption of 2.85 L/100km, or approximately 35.1 km/L using standard Japanese notation.
The JC08 mode fuel economy for Japan is pending application and thus undecided. For reference, the official figures for the same engine and transmission combination in France are 4.9 L/100km (approximately 20.4 km/L) with CO2 emissions of 114g/km. The 0-100km/h acceleration is 9.1 seconds, and the top speed is 206km/h.
While there is only one engine option, at the sales launch on November 5th, there will be three grades for the 308 and two grades for the 308SW, depending on equipment. Prices including consumption tax are set at ¥2.79 million to ¥3.39 million for the 308, and ¥2.99 million to ¥3.39 million for the 308SW.
