Limited Edition Fiat Panda 4x4 Introduced

Fiat has announced that it will sell the four-wheel-drive "Panda 4x4" model in Japan. Sales will begin on Saturday, October 4th, as a limited edition of 340 units nationwide.

A Compact SUV with TwinAir and a 5-Speed Manual

Fiat Chrysler Japan announced in 2012 thatAnnounced at the Paris Motor Show, the four-wheel-drive model of the third-generation "Panda",Panda 4x4" will be introduced to Japan as a limited edition.

The body dimensions are 3,685mm in length, 1,670mm in width, and 1,615mm in height.Introduced in June 2013Compared to the front-wheel-drive " Panda", it is 20mm longer, 15mm wider, and a significant 65mm taller. This increased ride height provides occupants with a higher eye-level viewpoint. Additionally, the bumpers with underguards and the specially designed 15-inch alloy wheels are unique to this model, enhancing its SUV-like appearance and feel.

The engine is Fiat's acclaimed 875cc 2-cylinder turbo "TwinAir," producing a maximum output of 63kW (85ps) and a maximum torque of 145Nm (14.8kgm). It is paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 4WD system features an electronic differential lock, which can be engaged via a switch to fix torque distribution to all four wheels, enhancing off-road capability.

Furthermore, it is equipped with the "City Brake Control" autonomous emergency braking system, a first for Fiat vehicles introduced in Japan. This system uses radar to detect the risk of a rear-end collision at speeds below 30km/h and automatically applies the brakes.

The Panda 4x4 introduced in Japan comes only in right-hand drive and is available in three body colors. Of the 340 limited units, 160 will be Tuscan Green, 120 Ice White, and 60 Italian Red. The price, including consumption tax, is ¥2,516,400, which Fiat states is the most affordable four-wheel-drive imported car on the market.
