The All-Electric Model is the Fifth in Citroën's Electrification Strategy
The new model is characterized by a choice of three powertrains: the all-electric "ë-C4 - 100% ëlectric," gasoline, and diesel engines. The ë-C4 - 100% ëlectric will be the fifth model introduced as part of Citroën's electrification strategy, following the "C5 AIRCROSS SUV Hybrid," "Ami," "ë-Jumpy," and "ë-SpaceTourer." The timing and specifications for its introduction to the Japanese market have not yet been determined.
The exterior of the new C4 features a tall coupe-like style, blending the elegance and dynamism of a hatchback with the robustness and individuality of an SUV.
The interior, meanwhile, emphasizes modernity and globally appealing comfort. It offers everyday comfort through new technologies for the front passenger and a quiet, smooth driving experience powered by electricity.
In Europe, these compact hatchbacks are a mainstream segment, accounting for 28% of C-segment sales in 2019. Citroën explains that the new C4 meets all expectations for this segment and offers a modern, distinctive concept to the market.
Furthermore, the C4, with its three powertrains, is described as a hatchback signifying Citroën's entry into a new era. It is a model perfected based on "Inspired by Customer" insights—how people interact with cars and their mobility experiences—and has reinvented all the essential qualities to shake up the segment.
