Pursuing Improvements in Quietness and Ride Comfort, the Brand's Origins

The new ES reportedly enhances quietness and ride comfort, while further evolving its driving performance. To this end, the F SPORT model adopts the latest linear solenoid-type AVS with a new actuator. By expanding the flow path of the solenoid's oil flow control valve, it accommodates small and large inputs, achieving a balance of superior ride comfort, steering response, and stability.
Furthermore, by changing the suspension member brace from a single-piece to a two-piece structure, torsional and bending rigidity have been increased, and ride comfort improved, enabling linear lane changes at high speeds.
The exterior features a grille composed of L-shaped units emphasizing horizontal flow, and the headlamps have been changed to three compact units. The wheel design has also been altered, and new body colors, the deeply shaded Sonic Iridium and the glossy Sonic Chrome, have been introduced.
Inside, the driver and display have been moved 100mm closer and tilted 5° to ensure the screen's edges are within reach. Laser-etched hairline finishes, walnut, Sumi Black, and Dark Brown materials are used. A new grayish-brown tone, Mauve, has been developed for the color palette.
In terms of advanced safety features, the system retains its monocular camera and millimeter-wave radar configuration but is equipped with the evolved "Lexus Safety System +." The "Pre-Collision Safety" system can now detect crossing pedestrians when turning right or left, and the "All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control" features a curve speed control function that decelerates in advance according to the sharpness of the curve.
The headlamps feature the BladeScan Adaptive High-beam System (AHS) adopted in the RX and LS. The digital exterior and interior mirrors, which garnered attention upon their introduction, have improved camera performance, enhancing visibility in areas with mixed light and shadow, and reducing noise in low-light conditions.
Sales in Japan are scheduled for autumn 2021.
