The FR Spider "812 GTS," Revived After Nearly Half a Century, Transformed into a One-of-a-Kind Roadster

The one-off model "PS51," created for a client residing in Taiwan and a prominent Ferrari collector, has been unveiled.
At Ferrari, the "Special Projects" division creates unique, one-off Ferraris. Here, the client's ideas serve as the starting point, which the design team at the Ferrari Styling Centre then develops. After creating styling clay models, the manufacturing process begins, with the entire process taking an average of about two years to complete a one-off model.
The current one-off model, the "PS51," is a V12-powered FR roadster based on the "812 GTS" platform. It features no roof whatsoever, making its true roadster nature its most defining characteristic in every sense.
However, roadster models often face issues with cabin noise and wind. Yet, with the "PS51," comfort levels comparable to the base model have been achieved through CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations, wind tunnel testing, and dynamic tests.
The styling evokes power and beauty through seamless, muscular curves on the body surface. Furthermore, exposed carbon fiber is extensively used on the exterior and in the cabin, with accents such as the trim around the two dynamic vents on the bonnet being particularly noteworthy.
The body is finished in a new three-layer coat, "Rosso Passionale," a color specially developed for this single vehicle. Combined with blue and white livery inspired by the 1955 "410 S," it achieves an elegant yet commanding presence.
Additionally, specially designed headlights are featured at the front, and wheels unique to this car adorn its feet. At the rear, the arch-shaped theme created by the taillights positioned beneath the spoiler serves as the design's focal point.
Turning to the cabin, the "Rosso Passionale" is also used as the main color, creating a seamless continuity between the exterior and interior with accent stripes in white and blue.
The Special Project transformed the FR Spider "812 GTS," revived after nearly half a century, into the "SP51," a one-of-a-kind roadster. This vehicle represents the pinnacle of Ferrari's extensive customization capabilities.
