General Motors Japan has launched the luxury compact SUV "Cadillac XT4," which incorporates Cadillac's latest design language. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2025.
Updated Design and Functionality
The "Cadillac XT4," introduced to Japan in 2021, receives a facelift. Updates include the adoption of Cadillac's latest design language for both the exterior and interior.
The more refined exterior features LED headlamps at the front corners and horizontally positioned turn signal lamps above the front grille, emphasizing Cadillac's signature look while also enhancing the wide and low silhouette.
At the rear, the reflectors and bumper have been redesigned vertically, improving visibility and evolving into a more stable design. The vehicle is also equipped with new 20-inch wheels.
The body lines have also been modified to improve aerodynamics, reducing air resistance and enhancing quietness. Additionally, the front grille is equipped with active grille shutters that close when necessary to optimize air resistance.
A diffuser has been adopted at the lower rear to smooth airflow, integrated with the twin exhaust, adding to the design's meticulous attention to detail.
The interior also features new Cadillac design elements, inheriting Cadillac's tradition of "using authentic materials" with new metal inserts, leather trim, and door trims made of real carbon fiber.
The Jet Black interior is accented with blue stitching, creating a refined and sporty atmosphere.
The instrument panel is equipped with a 33-inch advanced color LED display with 9K resolution. Furthermore, a 14-speaker audio system developed by AKG, a renowned acoustic and recording system manufacturer, is also featured, enhancing the premium driving experience.
The engine is a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder turbo producing a maximum output of 230 hp. While offering responsive performance from low RPMs, the Active Fuel Management system, which deactivates two of the four cylinders under low load, improves fuel efficiency.
The transmission is a 9-speed automatic with all-wheel drive. The standard twin-clutch AWD system features torque vectoring that optimally controls the drive torque between the left and right rear wheels, contributing to precise handling. Four drive modes can be selected.
The standard driver-assistance system automatically applies the brakes to avoid or mitigate collision risks with detected vehicles and pedestrians using cameras and sensors, supporting the driver's actions in emergencies.
The rear camera mirror, which enhances active safety, can be used as a conventional rearview mirror or switched to a digital mirror to display a wide-angle rear view, improving the safety of the driving environment.
The body colors include four options, such as Crystal White and Stellar Black Metallic, with optional premium paints. The price is 7.9 million yen.
