Sensual Exhaust Note Inherited from the One-77
This month in Pebble Beach, California, Aston Martin will world premiere the "V12 Vantage S Roadster," set to be the fastest roadster in Aston's history.
The V12 Vantage S Roadster is the open-top version of the "V12 Vantage S Coupe" released in 2013, and is the successor to the "V12 Vantage Roadster". With further refined performance, it has evolved into the fastest production roadster in Aston's history.
The powerful powertrain is the latest generation Aston Martin "AM28" 6.0-liter V12 engine, delivering 573 ps, identical to the coupe model. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 323 km/h. While the maximum torque of 620 Nm is delivered at 5,750 rpm, the engine's flat torque curve is also a point of pride, producing a formidable 510 Nm even at the extremely low engine speed of 1,000 rpm, ensuring strong acceleration in any gear.
Not only the power, but the sensual exhaust note produced by the naturally aspirated V12 engine is generated by a lightweight exhaust system inherited from the limited edition "One-77".

Technology Developed in Racing
Like the coupe, the V12 Vantage S Roadster is packed with technology derived from the racing scene. Examples include the engine's combustion chambers precisely machined by computer-controlled machine tools and hollow camshafts.
Furthermore, a crucial component fed back from racing technology is the 7-speed transmission known as "Sportshift III." This is Aston Martin's latest automated manual transmission, equipped with paddle shifters like a racing machine for agile gear changes. Moreover, being 20kg lighter than the previous 6-speed manual, its lack of a manual transmission option is understandable.
Supporting the sporty driving of Aston's fastest roadster are the suspension components, which newly feature 3-stage DSC, 2-stage ABS, and 3-stage adaptive dampers. These dampers offer three modes: "Normal," "Sport," and "Track," expanding the range of dynamic performance adjustments and allowing the driver to achieve their desired setup. The power steering assist level also changes according to the selected mode.
The braking system employs specially designed ceramic carbon discs, a luxurious component nearly equivalent to that found in the higher-end "Vanquish" model.

Sporty Design Reflecting the CC 100 Speedster
The openable roof offers high practicality, with the ability to open or close while driving at speeds below 48 km/h. The operation takes a mere 14 seconds.
Similar to the coupe model, the aluminum vanes within the signature Aston Martin front grille have been changed to carbon fiber, emphasizing its sportiness. Additionally, the slatted vanes can be replaced with black or titanium silver mesh.
This front grille design is inherited from the concept car "CC 100 Speedster" unveiled to commemorate the brand's 100th anniversary. It optimizes airflow to the V12 engine while also reflecting the CC 100's racing aesthetic.
This V12 Vantage S Roadster, Aston's fastest open-top model, is scheduled for market release this autumn, with pricing yet to be determined.
At Pebble Beach, where the world premiere will take place, there will also be the North American debut of the virtual design concept "DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo", developed in collaboration with PlayStation and unveiled at the "Goodwood Festival of Speed" in the UK.
