New Hatchback Model Added to GT220

Last September,Frankfurt Motor Showata facelifted model was announced.In Japan,Meganethe sporty "Megane Renault Sport" and "Megane Estate GT220" have been refreshed with a new family face.

The Megane Renault Sport, equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine delivering a maximum output of 195kW (265ps) at 5,500rpm and a maximum torque of 360Nm (36.7kgm) at 3,000rpm, holds the title of "fastest FF" at the Nürburgring. The minor change introduces a standard idling stop function and the "Energy Smart Management" system for energy regeneration during deceleration. Furthermore, red seatbelts and red-stitched interior elements enhance its aggressive impression.



Meanwhile, the GT220 series, now including a new hatchback model, features the same 2.0-liter turbo engine as the Megane Renault Sport, specially tuned by Renault Sport. Both deliver a maximum output of 162kW (220ps) at 5,500rpm and a maximum torque of 340Nm (34.7kgm) at 2,400rpm. Functionality includes the R.S. Monitor for real-time driving data, Hill Start Support for easier hill starts, an idling stop function, and the Energy Smart Management system.

Pricing is set at 3.96 million yen for the Megane Renault Sport, 3.179 million yen for the Megane Hatchback GT220, and 3.279 million yen for the Megane Estate GT220.
