The Birthplace of Maserati & The Colors of Its Logo
Maserati celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2014. Unveiled at theNew York Auto Showwere special editions based on the coupe GranTurismo MC Stradale and the open-top GranCabrio MC, featuring exclusive colors and equipment.
In addition to the existing four body colors, three new three-layer paint finishes are offered as exclusive options. Notably, 'Magma Red' and 'Ink Blue' are said to represent the colors of the Maserati logo and the hues of Bologna, the brand's birthplace.
Interior materials and colors are coordinated to match these seven exterior choices. Carbon fiber is used for the dashboard and seatbacks, reflecting a sporty image.
A wide array of wheel options are available, including four special surface finishes, each featuring a coin-like 100th-anniversary logo at the center.
Beyond design, standard features include dual-cast Brembo brakes and sport-tuned MC suspensions. The powertrain remains unchanged from the base models; the US specification features a 4.7-liter V8 engine producing 454 hp, paired with a ZF 6-speed automatic transmission, achieving a top speed of 185 mph (approximately 288 km/h).
The two 100th-anniversary models announced are scheduled for release in July 2014, though it remains unconfirmed whether Japan will be included in this launch.
