Powered by 2.0 TFSI, Delivering 231 PS

AudiA1" and its five-door variant, theA1 Sportback" have been unveiled with sportier "S1" and "S1 Sportback" versions.

The S1 and S1 Sportback are equipped with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, direct-injection turbocharged engine, the 2.0 TFSI. It produces a maximum output of 170 kW (231 ps) and a peak torque of 370 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 5.8 seconds for the S1 and 5.9 seconds for the S1 Sportback, with a top speed of 250 km/h for both. The adoption of quattro all-wheel drive, distributing power via a hydraulic multi-plate clutch mounted on the rear axle, signifies their status as S models, even within the smallest segment.

True to Audi's new model philosophy, they also boast excellent fuel efficiency, achieving 7.0-7.1 L/100km (approximately 14.1-14.3 km/L) in European measurements, despite their sporty nature.

To match the increased power, the front brakes have been upgraded with 310mm diameter discs and a larger master cylinder. Red brake calipers with S1 logos are available as an option. The standard tire size is 215/40R17, with an optional 225/35R18 also offered.

The steering system and suspension have been refined from the base models. Notably, the rear suspension has been changed from a torsion beam type to a sportier, more rigidly tuned four-link system. Furthermore, the Audi drive select system allows for adjustments to the engine, air conditioning, and shock absorber settings, enabling drivers to tailor the experience to their driving scenario.

As the flagships of the A1 series, their exteriors feature distinctive elements. The Xenon plus headlights sport a new design, and the LED rear lights have a horizontal motif. Aggressive styling is applied to the front and rear bumpers, sides, and exhaust pipes to enhance their sporty appearance. Additionally, the optional quattro exterior styling package includes special features such as a large roof spoiler.

The interior is unified in a dark tone, including the ring-shaped air vents. The optional quattro interior styling package adds accent colors. For the front sport seats, S sport seats with integrated headrests are available as an option.

Both the S1 and S1 Sportback will go on sale in Germany in the second quarter of 2014, with prices starting at €29,950 for the S1 and €30,800 for the S1 Sportback. In the German market, various features such as the navigation system, MMI, and BOSE surround sound system are offered as options.
