First adoption of PHEV 'Ultra Performance Hybrid'
Born in 2002 as the world's fastest four-seater car and a luxury grand tourer at the time, the Continental GT. The iconic model symbolizing Bentley's revival evolves into its fourth generation.
The fourth-generation Continental GT is the first plug-in hybrid model (PHEV). The new powertrain features the "Ultra Performance Hybrid" PHEV for the first time.
Although the engine size has not been disclosed, the combination of a V8 engine and electric motor produces a maximum output of 782 hp and a maximum torque of 1000 Nm. It is also said to have an electric-only range of 80 km, achieving CO2 emissions of less than 50g/km under WLPT standards.
In addition, it is equipped with active AWD (all-wheel drive) with torque vectoring, AWS, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, 48V active anti-roll control, and new dual-valve dampers.
Furthermore, it utilizes a latest-generation chassis that delivers high dynamic performance, and environmentally friendly materials have also been incorporated.
Bentley calls the new Continental GT "the most powerful and most dynamically capable road car in Bentley's 105-year history." We look forward to its unveiling in June.
