FORD FOCUS ST
More Power Than Before, Even with a Smaller Engine: The Power of EcoBoost
Ford has announced plans to exhibit the new Focus ST, a high-performance version of the Focus with a downsized engine, at the Paris Motor Show opening on September 30.

Balancing Lightweight Design and High Output
The most notable aspect of the newly announced Focus ST is its engine downsizing. The previous model was equipped with a 2.5-liter inline-five turbo (225ps) based on an engine used by Volvo. This new model adopts the newly developed direct-injection 2.0-liter inline-four gasoline turbo "EcoBoost." This allows for reduced fuel consumption and high output from a smaller displacement, achieving a 500cc reduction in displacement while increasing maximum output by 25ps to 250ps. Naturally, improvements in environmental performance are also cited.
The exterior features a large roof spoiler for improved aerodynamics and a front grille with a distinctive large opening, giving it a considerably more aggressive look compared to the standard model. The large-diameter tires and the dual exhaust system mounted centrally also emphasize its presence as a high-performance version.
The car is scheduled for release in early 2012.
