Opulence Befitting the Middle East
The Dubai Motor Show in the Middle East. From the latter half of the 20th century to the present, this has been a place where global wealth converges, a world apart. Despite experiencing an economic downturn a few years ago, it seems unfazed by the Lehman shock or the European debt crisis. While the peak may have passed, construction continues unabated, and luxury resorts and shopping malls are reportedly thriving.Fueled by abundant oil wealth, the region has long enjoyed a golden era.
The vehicles that gather here are equally remarkable. Premium and luxury cars must make a statement in this land to be truly recognized. Rolls-Royce is no exception. In fact, Rolls-Royce should be the star of the Dubai Motor Show.
As Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, stated, "For the very special Dubai Motor Show, we wanted to create something truly special to commemorate it. This is also our biggest market for bespoke commissions. Therefore, Rolls-Royce has created a Phantom inspired by celestial bodies, themed around a starry night, using the rarest and most valuable materials in the world." The "Celestial Phantom," placed center stage at the Dubai Motor Show, was the epitome of bespoke craftsmanship, akin to a showcase in a high-end jewelry store.
The vehicle is based on the "Celestial Phantom," which debuted at theFrankfurt Motor Show"Celestial Phantom" that debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Countless LEDs are embedded in the roof lining and seat center console, creating an immersive experience that makes you feel as if you are under a vast starry sky. The clock is adorned with four diamonds, exuding unparalleled luxury. It was a display of exceptional exclusivity.
However, Rolls-Royce did not stop there. For its Middle Eastern clientele, they further enhanced this special "Celestial Phantom" by embedding an additional 446 diamonds, elevating it to an even more extraordinary status. The diamonds are meticulously placed on the door panels, center console, and the rear privacy divider.
The exterior color, hinting at a cloudless, dark "night sky," and the premium leather interior, evoking "twilight," are also specially crafted. The starlit sky created by the LEDs in the cabin even features constellations, showcasing meticulous attention to detail. A picnic set (tableware) from a renowned porcelain manufacturer is also provided within the car, offering an unparalleled level of presentation.

Alpine Trial Centenary Collection
Inspired by the past,Rolls-Roycethe "Centenary Collection" is a new bespoke model developed with inspiration from its heritage. About a century ago, four Rolls-Royce "Silver Ghosts" underwent a durability test in the Austrian Alps. Rolls-Royce achieved outstanding results, solidifying its reputation as the "world's finest automobile" and earning the Royal Warrant of Appointment.
This bespoke model, the "Alpine Trial Centenary Collection," is an homage to the 1913 Rolls-Royce "Ghost Alpinetrial," which holds such historical significance. For instance, the body color is identical to the original 1913 Austrian Alpine Trial Silver Ghost, and the black grille and wheel design are also incorporated into the collection.
The key appeal is the ability to recreate and own modern interpretations of these historic cars within the current Rolls-Royce lineup. It's conceivable that some owners may possess original vehicles as collector's items and commission contemporary versions that carry their DNA for modern use.
Phantom Coupe Chicane
The "Phantom Coupe Chicane" is a special vehicle inspired by the Goodwood circuit in England, adjacent to the home of Rolls-Royce. Goodwood is also famous as the venue for the annual "Goodwood Festival of Speed," which gathers renowned cars from around the world every summer.
The interior features carbon fiber, the bonnet and windscreen are painted in gunmetal, and matte black is effectively used on the exterior to evoke a racing aesthetic. It also includes seats with a checkerboard motif and a metal plaque within the glove box depicting the Goodwood circuit layout.
Just as Rolls-Royce made its mark in the world of racing in the past, the "Phantom Coupe Chicane" serves as a showcase for how a racing aesthetic can be projected onto a modern model to create such a collection.
The models introduced here are examples of bespoke demonstrations, but the core message is that "in the world of Rolls-Royce, the word 'impossible' does not exist." If this concept is conveyed, it is likely sufficient. Indeed, Rolls-Royce is a unique brand that can fulfill any desire, provided one has the budget and the idea.
