An Expression of "Kinoe-Uma"

The year 2014 marks "Kinoe-Uma" in the Chinese zodiac, a combination of the Horse year and the Heavenly Stem "Kinoe," which signifies the element of "wood." To commemorate this, The Artisans Behind Rolls-RoyceRolls-Royce's master craftspeople have applied their skills to create the "Majestic Horse Collection," a bespoke Ghost featuring a motif that combines "wood" and "horse" for good fortune.

The interior dashboard showcases a modern interpretation of a horse rendered through intricate wood marquetry, a skilled technique of inlaying various wood tones. The same motif is embroidered on the headrests and cushions. On the exterior, the twin coachlines that flow along the body are hand-painted with horse motifs by artisans.

According to Rolls-Royce's Bespoke Design Manager, celebrities worldwide commission special Rolls-Royces inspired by myths, legends, and traditional events. In recent years, demand for bespoke vehicles has surged, particularly in Asia, with a 69 percent year-on-year increase across the Asia-Pacific region and a remarkable 103 percent rise in China.

The "Majestic Horse Collection" was conceived to celebrate the rare "Kinoe-Uma" year, occurring once every 60 years, by creating a car adorned with exquisite embellishments that reflect creativity and imaginative flair in response to special requests. This fusion of traditional Chinese art and the finest British automotive design is slated for delivery from September next year.
