C4 Grand Picasso Unveiled
Citroën has finally revealed details of the 7-seater version of theC4 Picassomodel, the "Grand C4 Picasso." As the previous model's "Grand C4 Picasso" was the "C4 Picasso" in Japan, this is a model that will be of interest for its rollout in Japan as well.

All-Around Evolution
The Grand C4 Picasso, the 7-seater model of the Citroën C4 Picasso, has been announced.
This new Grand C4 Picasso, like the already announced 5-seater model, achieves weight reduction and improved practicality by adopting a new generation platform called EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform 2).
The body dimensions are 4.59 meters in length, 1.83 meters in width, and 1.63 meters in height. While the length is the same as the previous model, the wheelbase has been extended by 11 cm to 2.84 meters due to a shorter front overhang. As a result, the interior is designed for 7 occupants, with ample legroom for each independent rear seat: up to 217 mm for the second row and 108 mm for the third row. The increased tread width has also expanded the trunk capacity by 69 liters compared to the previous model, to 645 liters. If the second-row seats are set to the foremost position, the capacity is said to exceed 700 liters. The width is 1.17 meters at its narrowest point.
The engine lineup includes Euro 6 compliant diesel engines. The top-grade BlueHDi 150 engine, as its name suggests, produces a maximum output of 150 ps while boasting environmental performance with CO2 emissions of 110g/km. Furthermore, this engine can be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The e-HDi115 engine, expected to be a core offering in Europe, records CO2 emissions of 104g/km and fuel consumption of 4ℓ/100km. For the e-HDi 90 "Airdream" engine, CO2 emissions are 98g/km and fuel consumption is 3.8ℓ/100km with a 6-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed clutchless manual (ETG6) is also available for this engine. CO2 emissions below 100g/km for a vehicle of this size are indicative of its remarkable environmental performance.
The exterior, interior, and equipment are fundamentally the same as the 5-seater C4 Picasso. The most distinct exterior difference is the roof arch that extends from the A-pillar to the rear of the vehicle.
There are 8 body colors available, and the tires can be fitted with 16, 17, or 18-inch alloy wheels.
The interior is equipped with a 12-inch display and a 7-inch touchpad at the front. Features such as the "360 Vision" system, which uses four exterior cameras to provide a bird's-eye view, and the park assist function are the same as the C4 Picasso.
The expansive 5.7 square meter glass roof and the air conditioning vents for the third-row seats are unique to the Grand C4 Picasso.
Additionally, the "Lounge Pack," which includes massage seats and relax seats with extendable leg rests in the front, and headrests with neck support for all seats, and the "Media Pack" for second-row passengers, which features a screen behind the front seats to enjoy personal videos, are desirable options for this type of vehicle.
In terms of driving assistance and safety features, it is equipped with active cruise control, collision warning, and active seatbelts that protect occupants by tightening the front seatbelts when a danger is imminent. The active seatbelts also have a function to warn by vibrating when the lane is deviated from. The blind-spot monitor, which alerts to vehicles in the rear blind spot, operates from 12 km/h to 140 km/h.
The C4 Picasso is already on sale in France, but Japanese fans are likely anticipating the C4 Grand Picasso. This is a model for which Japanese market deployment is expected.
