Sporty 'GT' Added to New Clio (Lutecia)

Chassis Developed by Renault Sport Adopted

The new "GT 120 EDC," newly added to the Clio (Lutecia) lineup, is positioned as a sporty model that bridges the gap between the standard version and the hot hatch "R.S. (Renault Sport)" version.

Visually, it features a front bumper with LEDs, 17-inch GT alloy wheels, and twin exhaust tailpipes. Inside, sporty features such as paddle shifters and an R.S. Drive switch are adopted, along with GT-specific interior appointments.

As its name suggests, the powertrain combines a 1.2-liter turbo engine, dubbed "TCe 120," with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, the "EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch)."

While the maximum output of 120 ps, maximum torque of 190 Nm, and European fuel consumption of 5.2 L/100 km remain unchanged from the standard model with the same engine, the chassis employs a sports chassis developed with Renault Sport Technology. Furthermore, the rigidity of the front suspension has been increased by 40 percent and the dampers by 30 percent, reportedly achieving sharp handling. The "R.S. Drive" function, which allows for adjustments to the power steering, accelerator pedal, and transmission characteristics, is also included.

This Clio GT 120 EDC is available not only as a 5-door hatchback but also as an estate. In France, the price is announced as 20,990 euros (21,590 euros for the estate).
