The Excitement Is Now
"The CC100 is a car that encapsulates Aston Martin's proud history. It is a manifestation of Aston Martin's motorsport achievements, design prowess, and technical expertise. Above all, the CC100 expresses our love for challenges."
said Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez.
Dr. Bez further explained that the CC100 is a two-seater concept model that powerfully showcases the "soul of Aston Martin," which defines the brand. It has been unveiled to celebrate Aston Martin's 100th anniversary.
Its official name is the "CC100 Speedster Concept." The nickname is "DBR100."
The unveiling took place alongside the "ADAC Zurich 24h Race (commonly known as the Nürburgring 24 Hours)," where the "CC100" actually ran on the Nürburgring North Loop. Dr. Ulrich Bez was at the wheel.
While the "CC100" features Aston Martin's latest design language, it also draws inspiration from the "DBR1," a race car born in 1956 that brought victories to Aston Martin in races like the Nürburgring 1000 km and the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1957 to 1959.
Therefore, at the world premiere of the "CC100," the "DBR1" that won the 1959 Nürburgring 1000 km race appeared alongside the "CC100." Sir Stirling Moss, who drove the "DBR1" to victory in the 1959 Nürburgring 1000 km race, took the wheel of this historic "DBR1."
Based on the VH Architecture and AM11 Engine
The "CC100 Speedster Concept" measures 4.5 meters in length and over 2 meters in width, including mirrors in the British style.
Its chassis utilizes the same VH architecture as current production models. The body and interior are made of carbon fiber.
The engine is the "AM11," also found in production models: a naturally aspirated 6-liter V12. This AM11 is paired with a racing-style automated sequential manual gearbox. Its performance figures include acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 4 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to approximately 290 km/h.
Let us quote Dr. Bez once more.
"Aston Martin's future is set to be far more exciting than at any point in its past. I believe Aston Martin fans and owners will feel this when they see the CC100, and their hearts will race."
