An Homage to the 19 DB4 GT Zagatos Built in Limited Numbers in the 1960s
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the esteemed Italian coachbuilder Zagato, a special collaborative model, the "DBZ Centenary Collection," will be produced in a limited run of just 19 sets, each comprising two cars.DBZ Centenary CollectionWithin this collection, the "DB4 GT Zagato Continuation" is paired with the "DBS GT Zagato."
The "DB4 GT Zagato Continuation," a circuit-exclusive sports car, is the latest production model from the Continuation program launched in 2017, with its first unit set to make its world premiere at Le Mans.
The "DB4 GT Zagato Continuation" is modeled after the "DB4 GT Zagato," of which only 19 units were built in the 1960s to compete against Ferrari on the circuit. To faithfully recreate this model, traditional craftsmanship has been combined with performance enhanced by cutting-edge engineering.
An example of this is the adoption of digital body scan technology. While employing the latest techniques, the craftsmanship of the 1960s has been meticulously recreated by hand. Furthermore, the body color replicates the original model's hue, mixed by the same manufacturer. The interior features Obsidian Black leather as its base, with this black leather also used for the carbon fiber seats, door cards, and headliner.
At its heart lies a 4.7-liter inline-six gasoline engine, producing a maximum output of 390 bhp. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The "DB4 GT Zagato Continuation" is set to be unveiled at the Aston Martin VIP hospitality booth at the Circuit de la Sarthe, the venue for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It promises to add a touch of elegance to the stage of this grueling race.
