Lithium-ion Battery Capacity Also Increased
The V60, fully redesigned for the first time in seven years last yearwas available as a PHEV. Previously, the "T6 Twin Engine AWD" was only offered in the premium "Inscription" grade, but the new "Momentum" base grade has now been added.
The V60 offers two types of PHEVs with different engine outputs: the "T6 Twin Engine AWD" and the "T8 Twin Engine AWD."
The "T6 Twin Engine AWD," for which an entry-grade has now been set, is an all-wheel-drive vehicle that drives the front wheels with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo gasoline engine producing a maximum output of 186 kW (253 ps) and a maximum torque of 350 Nm (35.7 kgm), and the rear wheels with an electric motor producing a maximum output of 65 kW (83 ps) and a maximum torque of 240 Nm (24.5 kgm). The synergy between the engine and electric motor achieves reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, while the electric motor's assist provides smooth acceleration from a standstill.
Furthermore, with this specification change, the capacity of the drive lithium-ion battery for both the "T6 Twin Engine AWD" and "T8 Twin Engine AWD" has been increased from 30 Ah to 34 Ah, improving the EV driving range. For the T6 engine, the fuel consumption in WLTC mode is expected to be 13.7 km/ℓ, with a plug-in range of 48.2 km.
Other specification changes include the addition of safety equipment. The driver assistance function "BLIS (Blind Spot Information System)," which alerts the driver to approaching vehicles from blind spots, now includes a steering assist function. If there is a risk of collision with a vehicle traveling in an adjacent lane due to lane changes or drifting from the current lane, the system will assist in avoiding a collision by correcting the steering.
The price for the newly added "T6 Twin Engine AWD Momentum" is 6.59 million yen. Other grades include the 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine "T5 Momentum" at 4.99 million yen, the "T5 Inscription" at 5.99 million yen, the PHEV "T6 Twin Engine Inscription" at 7.59 million yen, and the "T8 Twin Engine AWD Inscription" at 8.29 million yen.
