Ferrari's First PHEV, the 1,000-HP SF90 Stradale
On May 30, Ferrari unveiled the SF90 Stradale, its first production PHEV supercar, capable of producing 1,000 ps.

A Three-Motor PHEV with a Top Speed of 340 km/h and 0-100 km/h Acceleration in 2.5 Seconds
Named "SF90" to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Scuderia Ferrari, this new model is powered by a 3,990cc 90-degree V8 twin-turbo engine—the most powerful V8 in Ferrari's lineup, producing 780 ps at 7,500 rpm and 800 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm—combined with three electric motors delivering a total of 220 ps.
Two of these motors drive the front wheels independently, while the third is integrated between the engine and the new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, powering the rear wheels, creating an all-wheel-drive system.
The combined output of the PHEV system reaches 1,000 ps, delivering astonishing performance: a top speed of 340 km/h, 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 6.7 seconds, a stopping distance of 29.5 meters from 100 km/h, and a lap time of 79 seconds at Ferrari's Fiorano test track.
The SF90 Stradale measures 4,710 mm in length, 1,972 mm in width, and 1,186 mm in height. With a dry weight of 1,570 kg, its power-to-weight ratio is 1.57 kg/ps. This positions the V8 model, for the first time in Ferrari's history, at the pinnacle of the lineup alongside its output.

Positioned Between the F8 Tributo and LaFerrari
The styling is said to completely redefine the proportions of the mid-rear-engine sports berlinetta that began with the "360 Modena" 20 years ago. A cab-forward configuration places a compact, dome-shaped cockpit at the front of the vehicle to reduce drag. Combined with a two-part front bumper that functions as a wing, a low-slung engine cover, and a carbon fiber rear spoiler, it achieves 390 kg of downforce at 250 km/h.
The headlights are L-shaped, integrating the inner portion with the brake air intake, while the taillights have evolved from Ferrari's traditional round shape into a long, horizontal ring.
The interior embodies the philosophy of "eyes on the road, hands on the steering wheel," featuring Ferrari's first 16-inch full-digital screen that curves towards the driver. Various functions called up on the screen can be controlled with just the thumb using the touchpad and haptic buttons on the steering wheel. A head-up display projects all data onto the windshield.
Furthermore, the steering wheel is equipped with an electronic vehicle dynamics mode selector, the "eManettino," allowing for the selection of four driving modes.
These modes include: "eDrive," focused on efficiency, which allows driving solely on the electric front axle with the internal combustion engine off, offering a range of 25 km and a top speed of 135 km/h. The standard "Hybrid" mode allows the car's logic to manage engine operation and other controls to optimize overall efficiency.
"Performance" mode keeps the internal combustion engine running and prioritizes battery charging over efficiency. Power is instantly available when needed, making it ideal for situations where the focus is on driving enjoyment and the pleasure of the steering wheel. Finally, "Qualify" mode unleashes the system's maximum output, maximizing the electric motors' potential (162 kW) and prioritizing performance over battery charging.
The SF90 Stradale was developed to showcase how Ferrari's racing knowledge and skills can be transferred to road cars, aiming to be the ultimate Prancing Horse vehicle through cutting-edge technology. Its position is described by the company as being between the mid-rear-engine coupes represented by the "F8 Tributo" and supercars such as the "LaFerrari".
