A PHEV Producing 462 PS
The powertrain of the new "Cayenne E Hybrid" combines a 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 250kW/340PS with an electric motor generating 100kW/136PS. The system's maximum output is 340kW/462PS, delivering a maximum torque of 700Nm at just above idling RPM.
Debuting in 2014,Previous Cayenne S E-Hybridthe engine output has been increased by 5kW/7PS and the motor by 43 percent compared to the previous "Cayenne S E-Hybrid." The system's maximum output, which is 34kW/46PS higher, enables acceleration from 0-100km/h in 5.0 seconds and a top speed of 253km/h (with the Sport Chrono Package).
The water-cooled battery, with a capacity increased by 30 percent from the previous model's 10.8kWh to 14.1kWh, consists of eight battery modules with 13 prism lithium-ion cells and is housed beneath the rear cargo area floor. The electric-only range is up to 44km, with a maximum speed of 135km/h achievable.
The transmission is a new 8-speed Tiptronic S, which shortens shift times and significantly reduces traction loss during shifts. Depending on the tires used, the average fuel consumption (NEDC) is rated at 3.4-3.2 liters/100km, and average power consumption is 20.9-20.6kWh/100km.
The Japanese specification includes Lane Change Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Park Assist, and a Surround View camera as standard equipment. Options include a new Head-Up Display, massage seats, an auxiliary heater with remote control, and 22-inch alloy wheels. Pricing has not yet been announced.
