4.59 Meters Long, Over 450km Range, Scheduled for Release End of 2020

Based on the MEB (Modular Electrification Platform), Volkswagen Group's electric vehicle platform, the Audi "Q4 e-tron Concept" measures 4.59 meters in length, 1.90 meters in width, and 1.61 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2,770mm.

The powertrain consists of two electric motors, one for the front axle producing 75kW/150Nm and one for the rear axle producing 150kW/310Nm. These drive the front and rear axles respectively, creating an electric quattro full-time 4WD system with a system output of 225kW. Audi claims excellent traction allows for 0-100km/h acceleration in 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 180km/h (electronically limited). An 82kWh high-capacity battery is integrated across the entire floor between the front and rear axles, providing a range exceeding 450km on the WLTP cycle. The battery can be charged at up to 125kW, allowing it to reach 80 percent charge in under 30 minutes.

The exterior features a wide, vertically oriented, octagonal Singleframe grille, similar to Audi's first EV, the "e-tron," with a closed surface structure. The wide fenders emphasizing the sides have an organic, flowing design, expressing the design language that future Audi models will adopt. An accent in the sill area between the 22-inch front and rear wheels, also a characteristic of the e-tron, indicates the placement of the battery.

The concept model's "Solar Sky" body color changes its shade of blue depending on the angle of light. It also effectively reflects infrared rays from sunlight, reducing heat buildup on the body surface and inside the cabin. This not only enhances passenger comfort but also reduces the energy needed for cooling.

Audi's Fifth Electric Vehicle

The interior offers a cabin space one class above, thanks to the long 2.77-meter wheelbase and the flat floor enabled by electrification. Furthermore, the spacious feel is emphasized by using bright, warm colors for the upper section and dark carpet for the floor. Sustainability is also prioritized in the design, with a headlining, window pillars, door rails, and the upper part of the dashboard made from microfiber fabric, and carpets made from recycled materials.

In terms of operation, it features a virtual cockpit displaying essential information such as speed, charging level, and navigation, as well as a 12.3-inch touchscreen in the center of the console for controlling infotainment and vehicle functions. The center console, free of a shift lever or parking brake lever, provides a charging cradle for mobile phones and ample storage space.

Additionally, a large head-up display with augmented reality functionality is adopted as a new feature, projecting important graphic information, such as turn indicators, onto the road ahead of the vehicle as if floating.

The production version of the Q4 e-tron concept is scheduled to be unveiled at the end of 2020, becoming Audi's fifth electric vehicle after the "e-tron", "e-tron Sportback", the "Q2L e-tron" (China-exclusive), and "e-tron GT".
