A Manual-Only Model with Enhanced Sport Driving Performance

Renault Japon has announced that it will release the "Mégane Renault Sport Cup," a limited edition model with a manual transmission, equipped with a chassis that suppresses roll and a Torsen LSD, limited to 100 units, starting Friday, March 22nd.

Improved Sport Driving Performance on Closed Courses

"Renault Sport" adopts technologies cultivated through Renault's motorsport activities.

The "Mégane Renault Sport (R.S.)" features technologies such as the 4Control four-wheel steering system, which contributes to agility on winding roads and stability on high-speed corners, and the 4-axis hydraulic compression control (HCC) with secondary dampers inside the dampers. It is characterized by the incorporation of technologies aimed at higher performance.

The "Mégane R.S. Cup," a 6-speed manual transmission model announced this time, adopts the "Chassis Cup," which increases the rates of the Mégane R.S. dampers, springs, and anti-roll bars to suppress roll, with the aim of improving cornering speed.

Furthermore, it is equipped with a bi-material brake on the front, combining cast iron ventilated discs with aluminum hubs, and a Torsen LSD that increases the torque distribution ratio between the left and right wheels, improving traction and driving feel. These enhancements improve sport driving performance on closed courses.

The powertrain is a 1.8-liter direct-injection turbo engine. Tuned by Renault Sport, it produces a maximum output of 205 kW (279 ps) and a maximum torque of 390 Nm (39.8 kgm). The transmission is a 6-speed manual only.

The body colors are Blanc Nacré Metallic (white), Gris Titanium Metallic (blue), and Noir Étoile Metallic (black). Sales are limited to 100 units, with a price of 4.5 million yen.
