An Early Encounter with the Highly Anticipated New Cadillac ATS

The all-new Cadillac ATS, a meticulously engineered entry-luxury sports sedan, is set to redefine the segment. In Japan, it will be available in two grades: 'ATS Luxury' and 'ATS Premium.' The 'ATS Luxury' is launching on March 2nd, tomorrow. A special exhibition is being held at the Cadillac Cafe in Roppongi, Tokyo, until the end of March.

A New Generation of Cadillac

The new Cadillac ATS, unveiled at theDetroit Showin January 2012,World Premieremarks a completely new American entry-luxury sports sedan, focusing on 'design,' 'performance,' and 'technology.'

Engineered from a clean slate, the ATS boasts a rigid yet lightweight body structure, weighing in at just 1,580kg, positioning it as the most agile and lightest model in the Cadillac family. Its rear-wheel-drive architecture achieves an ideal 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution. Power comes from a new 2.0-liter direct-injection turbo engine, delivering a maximum output of 203kW (276ps).

The suspension features Cadillac's first five-link independent rear multi-link suspension and a double-pivot MacPherson strut front suspension. Developed through rigorous testing on public roads, test tracks, and research facilities worldwide, including the Nürburgring, to directly challenge German premium rivals like the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi A4, itsdriving dynamicshave been honed to perfection.

Inside, the cabin offers a comfortable driving experience with features like 'CUE' (Cadillac User Experience), an integrated interface for controlling information and entertainment systems, and 'Active Noise Cancellation,' co-developed with BOSE.

The styling evolves Cadillac's 'Art & Science' design philosophy. Already recognized in the U.S. with the '2013 North American Car of the Year' award, the ATS has quickly become asymbol of GM's resurgencemodel.

To commemorate the Japanese launch, the 'ATS Luxury' is on special display until the end of March at the 'Cadillac Cafe,' Cadillac's brand communication hub that opened last October at the base of Keyakizaka in Roppongi, Tokyo.

This is a rare opportunity to see the actual vehicle up close, so don't miss it. The 'ATS Premium,' featuring enhanced equipment, is scheduled for release in May.
