100 Years from Aston Hill
In 1913, Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford founded "Bamford & Martin," the precursor to Aston Martin, with the aim of developing cars primarily for hill climbs. The first car to bear the Aston Martin name appeared in 1914, named after Aston Hill in Aston Clinton. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the brand that has become synonymous with British sports cars.
The Vanquish Showcases a Beautiful Gradient
To commemorate this centenary, Aston Martin has produced a limited run of 100 vehicles worldwide, each featuring special equipment. These include theV8 Vantage, theDB9, and theRapide, and the Vanquish. First to be revealed is the "Vanquish" anniversary edition, a model that embodies the centenary itself.
The most striking feature of the 100th Anniversary Edition Vanquish's exterior is the gradient body color that transitions across the front. Aston Martin states that while their standard body painting process already takes over 50 hours, this centenary model requires an additional 18 hours.
A pure silver Aston Martin wing badge with "Trans flux" enamel inlay and a plaque signifying its special status add accents to the exterior.
The interior features Deep Soft Black leather, previously exclusive to the "One-77," with silver stitching. The Aston Martin wing emblem on the headrests is embroidered in silver thread. Additionally, a pure silver sill plate engraved with the serial number and proof of its 100th anniversary status is fitted.
Purchasers of this Vanquish will receive a gift box containing two glass keys, two key pouches in matching leather, pure silver Aston Martin cufflinks with initials, a pure silver ballpoint pen, Bang & Olufsen headphones, and a polishing cloth for the silver components.
The vehicle is hand-assembled at Aston Martin's headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
