Porsche's "Mission E" isAnnounced at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Showas the company's first EV equipped with a pure electric drive system. Unveiled as a concept model for an electric car that inherits technology from the "919 Hybrid," which achieved three consecutive Le Mans victories from 2015, and the hybrid super sports car "918 Spyder," this year's Geneva Motor Show featured the public debut of a crossover utility vehicle (CUV) variant, the “Mission E Cross Turismo”.

The 4-door, 4-seater Mission E features a 4WD system powered by two permanently excited synchronous motors (PSM) driving the front and rear axles, delivering a maximum output of 440 kW (600 ps). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and to 200 km/h in 12 seconds, efficiently regenerating kinetic energy during braking. Thanks to its lithium-ion battery, which can be charged at 800 volts – a system Porsche calls "Turbo Charging" – it boasts a maximum range of 500 km on a full charge.

The exterior blends traditional elements that evoke the DNA of the 911 with innovations such as four-point LED matrix headlights and a flat nose.

Porsche has actively pursued electrification, beginning with the "Lohner-Porsche," the world's first full hybrid car unveiled at the 1900 Paris Exposition, followed by the "918 Spyder," "Cayenne S E-Hybrid," "Panamera S E-Hybrid," and the "919 Hybrid" racing car. Currently, the company has introduced a total of five EV models to the market: four Panamera variants and one Cayenne model (launched in Europe). Porsche aims to have 50% of its entire model lineup consist of plug-in hybrid models and EVs, such as the Mission E, by 2025.
