The "IS," currently the only Lexus sedan sold in the U.S. without the signature spindle grille, will undergo a model change at next year's Detroit Motor Show (North American International Auto Show, NAIAS) in January.
At theParis Motor Showheld in September, Lexus unveiled the D-segment sedan,LF-CC Concept"LF-CC Concept." As rumored since its debut, the new IS will be inspired by the LF-CC Concept, adopting the "L-Finesse" design language that permeates the entire Lexus brand, resulting in a completely new interior and exterior.
While only a preview has been released so far, with no details revealed, the LF-CC Concept featured a new engine combining a 2.5-liter direct-injection four-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine with a hybrid system. This engine boasts high environmental performance with CO2 emissions below 100g/km, as well as a power output of over 2ps per gram of CO2 emitted, making it highly likely that this powertrain will be adopted.
