The Return of a Legendary Name

The "DBS," soon to be unveiled, is a name that has played a significant role in Aston Martin's history for over 50 years. The model line includes the first generation, designed by William Towns in 1967, and the second generation, styled by current Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman in 2007.

The "DBS Superleggera," teased today, is set to reign at the pinnacle of the company's sports car lineup, merging the highest levels of performance, craftsmanship, and design. It arrives as part of the Second Century Plan to refresh the existing two-door sports models.

Furthermore, the "Superleggera" in the model name pays homage to the historic ultra-lightweight (Superleggera) structural technology developed by Milanese coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring, a technique also employed on the "DB4," "DB5," and "DB6 Mark 1" of that era. While details of this eagerly awaited super GT remain scarce, the teaser photo reveals a Superleggera badge adorning the bonnet of the red car.

Reichman commented, "The name DBS Superleggera alone tells you what that car will be. It is a nameplate that sits at the very top of the Aston Martin GT range, a true icon model. We will be pushing the boundaries of performance and design to deliver a heritage and lightweight structure worthy of the name."
