Compact EVs and More Make Their Debut
Honda's booth concept is “Take yourself out more.” The entire space proposes the potential of people and enriched lives that expand through mobility.
At the center of the stage, making its world premiere, was the Honda Sports EV ConceptSports EV Concept. This model, combining an EV and artificial intelligence (AI) in a compact two-door coupe body, was developed with the aim of providing a driving experience that feels like a fusion of person and car. It shares a platform with the Honda Urban EV Conceptmentioned later, but was designed to be approachable, leaving a lasting impression at first glance and blending naturally into diverse lifestyles, aiming to be a next-generation sports car that evokes a sense of joy and attachment in its owner.
Another concept model making its Japan premiere is the “Honda Urban EV Concept.” Utilizing a newly developed EV-exclusive platform, this model indicates the technological and design direction for future mass-produced EV models. It features an endearing design (inspired by the Civic) and a compact size ideal for urban mobility. Equipped with AI and a display that shows messages and greetings to the outside world, it enables natural communication between people and the car.
There is one more Japan premiere concept model: the “Honda NeuV.” This is an EV model that combines automated driving technology and AI, and it is envisioned that when the owner is not using it, it can travel autonomously and participate in ride-sharing.
The fifth-generation “CR-V” also made its Japan premiere. It is available in FF and 4WD models, equipped with the two-motor hybrid system “SPORT HYBRID i-MMD,” a first for the CR-V series.
