Vintage Models and Latest Concepts Share the Stage
Under the theme "Light you up – Be yourself, together, lightly –", Daihatsu exhibited four concept models making their world debut and one making its Japan debut.
A highlight is the "DN Compagno," a modern interpretation of the "Compagno" that debuted in 1963 with its compact and stylish design. Featuring an exterior with a sleek, beautiful shooting line on a bright red body, and a spacious interior package exuding quality, it was developed to enrich the active senior's fulfilling second life. The powertrain is envisioned as a 1-liter turbo (a 1.2-liter hybrid is also possible). Its appearance alongside the original Compagno sedan will strongly appeal to vintage car enthusiasts.
Also on display as references were the "DN Pro Cargo," inheriting the practicality and high expandability of the "Midget" that debuted in 1957; the "DN U-Space" with its modern product interior and exterior; the "DN Trec," an active vehicle with a 1.2-liter hybrid (or 1-liter turbo); and the "DN Multi Six," a compact three-row minivan.
