Virtual Showroom Suggests the Perfect Car Based on Brainwaves

At this year's Tokyo Motor Show, Volkswagen presents "We make the future real" as its booth theme. The display will feature a wide range of vehicles, focusing on electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), alongside diesel and sporty models.

The centerpiece is the "I.D. BUZZ," an electric concept vehicle that can be described as the "EV version of the VW bus," with its release already slated for 2022. Additionally, a "VR Experience" booth will allow visitors to virtually explore the exterior and interior of the "I.D. CROZZ," which had its world premiere at last month's Frankfurt Motor Show.

Visitors can also enjoy the "Intuitive Car Finder," a virtual showroom that reads a person's subconscious by analyzing brainwaves through a head-mounted device to suggest the ideal car, and the "Tech Labo," an AR experience where pointing a smartphone or tablet at AR markers on display vehicles reveals the car's features and functions, introduced by researcher figures.

The booth will also showcase, for the first time in Japan, new models including the "Arteon", the EV "eGolf", the PHEV "Golf GTE", the sporty "Golf R Performance," the highly anticipated "up! GTI," and the recently announced diesel-powered "Passat Variant TDI" will be unveiled for the first time in Japan.
