The nostalgic "Compagno" is revived

Daihatsu's booth design and concept car exhibits will be based on the group slogan "Light you up～Individually, Together, Lightly～," which was refreshed to commemorate the company's 110th anniversary this March.

The concept cars offer a glimpse into the company's future lineup, viewed from the unique perspective of a brand that aims to be closest to its users, amidst various societal challenges and environmental changes such as a declining birthrate, aging population, and diversification of work styles. The lineup will include two kei cars and three compact cars.

DN PRO CARGO

The "DN PRO CARGO" is a commercial EV model that inherits the user-friendliness and high expandability of the "Midget," released in 1957, while thoroughly pursuing the convenience of kei cars. Its features include a low-floor, flat floor that makes it easy for women and seniors to get in and out, a spacious interior with a walk-through design and a cabin height of 1,600mm for excellent workability and serviceability, and a versatile multi-unit system that can be adapted to a wide range of industries and applications. It is a concept car envisioned as a partner for future workers, based on the philosophy of "making advanced technology accessible to everyone."

The "DN COMPAGNO" is a four-door coupe that inherits the stylish design and philosophy of the compact "Compagno," released in 1963, and features a sleek, beautiful shooting line. It offers a spacious interior package designed for two adults to relax, prioritizing the front seats, and a sporty, high-quality interior. The powertrain is planned to be either a 1.0-liter turbo or a hybrid with a 1.2-liter engine. It is envisioned as a concept model for active seniors who enjoy their own unique lifestyles, enriching their fulfilling second lives.

Other concept cars on display include the "DN U-SPACE," a 660cc gasoline engine model that enhances the usability of the "more space" kei car category to support busy mothers; the "DN TREC," a compact SUV with a 1.2-liter hybrid (or 1.0-liter turbo) engine that balances daily life with hobbies; and the "DN MULTISIX," a 6-seater minivan with a convenient 1.5-liter gasoline engine.
