Black Interior Accented with Yellow Stitching

A limited edition model, the "Protonic Frozen Yellow," has been created for the plug-in hybrid (PHV) sports car, the "i8"BMW i8," featuring a striking matte finish.

The "BMW Individual Protonic Frozen Yellow" body color is complemented by 20-inch alloy wheels, also with a matte finish.

Furthermore, the interior, while predominantly black, incorporates yellow accents throughout, creating a distinctive presence. A special badge bearing the edition name and serial number is also included.

Additionally, the "BMW Laser Light," which offers twice the illumination range of LED headlights, comes as standard equipment.

The powertrain combines a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine with an electric motor, delivering a system output of
266kW (362ps) and a maximum torque of 570Nm. The vehicle also focuses on weight reduction, notably by employing CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) for the basic body structure, a first for a mass-produced car. This allows for sports car performance while achieving fuel efficiency and low emissions comparable to a compact car.

Only four units will be available in Japan, priced at ¥22.98 million. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in November.
