Project Neptune: The Codename
The codename for this venture program is "Project Neptune." Through this initiative, Aston Martin aims to challenge a new frontier in the luxury market, perfectly embodying the performance, beauty, and elegance that people expect from the brand.
Triton, the partner company, possesses extensive expertise in the design, manufacturing, and operation of submersibles for researchers, adventurers, and owners of large luxury yachts. The submersibles they produce are safe, high-performance, and capable of exploring the deepest parts of the ocean. This project will fuse Triton's know-how in submersible development and operation with Aston Martin's skills in design, material selection, and craftsmanship.
Specifically, the design concept unveiled is for an exclusive, limited-production submersible with beautiful proportions, based on Triton's highly acclaimed three-person "Low Profile (LP)" platform and created by Aston Martin's Design Director, Marek Reichman, and his team.
Reichman stated, "The most significant aspect of Project Neptune is its sleek, elegant exterior. Much like when we worked on cars such as the Valkyrie hypercar, this submersible represents a relentless pursuit of design, engineering, and beauty."
Patrick Lahey, President of Triton, commented, "Aston Martin has always been a brand we admire, symbolizing technology, engineering, and a timeless, elegant design. While this is our first business collaboration, the synergy is remarkable. Our respect for the company will undoubtedly lead to success in this exciting project."
The project will be overseen by an organization called Aston Martin Consulting, tasked with integrating the essence of the Aston Martin brand into exciting new projects without compromising its quality. This initiative represents the first valuable partnership project that fully leverages the exceptional skills of Aston Martin's design and engineering staff, extending their passion for technological innovation, beauty, and craftsmanship beyond the automotive realm.
Bradley York-Biggs, its Managing Director, commented, "Project Neptune is the flagship project for Aston Martin Consulting, and it will clearly and compellingly demonstrate how our expertise in sports car design and craftsmanship is applicable to other areas of the luxury world." He expressed high expectations for Aston Martin's further brand enhancement.
