Enhanced Directness in Handling
The Toyota 86 is a two-door coupe that combines a FR layout with a horizontally opposed engine. Last summer, it underwent a minor change to its "late model" specification, with significant revisions to the powertrain, exterior, interior, and control systems.
This latest round of improvements includes increased steering support rigidity and retuned suspension, resulting in even more direct handling than before.
Additionally, the "GT Limited Black Package" has been introduced as a new grade for the upper-tier "Limited" model. This package features black-painted side mirrors and rear spoilers, black aluminum wheels, and Brembo brakes as standard equipment.
Brembo brakes are also available as an option for the "GT," "GT Limited," and "G" grades, and when selected, they come with a set of 215/45R17 exclusive aluminum wheels.
Furthermore, the 6-speed manual transmission models of the "GT" and "GT Limited" now feature a premium leather shift knob for an enhanced tactile experience. The "Solid Gray" body color is available for a limited time until February 2018 production.
There are no changes to the output of the Subaru-sourced 2.0-liter horizontally opposed 4-cylinder engine, which produces a maximum output of 152 kW (207 ps) and a maximum torque of 212 Nm.
Prices range from 2,623,320 yen for the "G (6MT)" to 3,423,600 yen for the "GT Limited Black Package (6AT)."
