The new "Vanquish," which debuted in June this year as the successor to Aston Martin's V12 model "DBS," was covered by OPENERS upon its international announcement.Breaking NewsandVideo ArticleWe reported on these topics twice, and just three months after that announcement, a preview event was held in Japan.

This marks the return of the "Vanquish" name to Aston Martin after five years. The first generation Vanquish, introduced in 2000, was produced until 2007. Its successor was renamed "DBS," inheriting the name from a 1960s icon, and had been positioned as the company's flagship model until now.

The styling of the new Vanquish is heavily influenced by the Aston Martin special model "One-77," of which only 77 units were produced.Aston Martin's Special Model "One-77"The elegant flow of the body lines, from the cinched waist to the rear fenders, is exquisite. It masterfully blends elegance and sportiness with features like the LED taillights, rear spoiler design, and a low, sharp front splitter.

"This Vanquish is the culmination of Aston Martin's spirit, engineering, and everything it stands for," says CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez. It exudes a unique presence, achievable only by a heritage brand that has been crafting grand tourers for 100 years.

The body dimensions are 4,692mm in length, 1,912mm in width, and 1,294mm in height. The cabin is over 60% larger than the previous "DBS," and the interior design has been completely revamped. The option to add two rear seats enhances comfort for long drives.

The powertrain is based on the same 6.0-liter V12 engine as the DBS, delivering a maximum output of 573ps at 6,750rpm and a peak torque of 620Nm (approx. 63.2kgm) at 5,500rpm. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 295km/h. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the "Touchtronic 2."

The price is 31.5 million yen, and reservations are open from today.
